Lookout and Observation Towers
Diana Tower (547 m above sea level)
The observation tower built in 1914 stands on Friendship Height (Výšina přátelství) above Grandhotel Pupp. You can easily reach it on foot by walking up forest paths or by the cableway. The cableway ride takes about 3 minutes.

Goethe's Lookout (638 m above sea level)
| You can get to the lookout tower by taking public transport bus No. 8 bus to the Hůrky stop (the bus has a one-hour interval). From there, you may continue on foot, on a bicycle or by car and follow Gogol's Path. The lookout tower is open from 11.00 am until 8.00 pm in summer. In winter, it closes for the public 3 or 4 hours earlier. If you want to continue in your walk, follow Gogol's Path. You will reach the Three Crosses after about 2 km. On your way, you will pass a number of alcoves and rest areas that are so typical of the woods surrounding Karlovy Vary. |

Charles IV Lookout (514 m above sea level)

This beautiful pseudo-Gothic lookout tower dates back to 1877. Access to the tower is unlimited. The lookout tower may be reached by the cableway from Grandhotel Pupp. Get off at the Deer Jump station (you can also walk to it from the Diana Tower) and follow the yellow-marked path in the direction of the Postal Court (Poštovní Dvůr). On your way, you will come across a number of direction signs, orientation maps, alcoves, and rest areas. |
Deer Jump
| The Deer Jump (Jelení skok) offers a view of the town from a different perspective. The statue of a chamois standing on a rock and gazing at the town belongs to Karlovy Vary as much as its mineral waters, spa wafers and the Becherovka liqueur. The lookout may be reached by the cableway from Grandhotel Pupp. You can either get off at the Deer Jump station or ride all the way up to the Diana Tower and walk down about 500 metres. You will pass the Gamekeeper's Lodge (Myslivna) Sanatorium and walk along the Gamekeeper's Lodge (U Myslivny) Restaurant to the Deer Jump (Jelení skok) Restaurant. From there, you will walk down a winding path to the statue of the chamois below the Deer Jump Lookout. Do not get confused by the same name of three different places. You will reach your destination after you see the statue of the chamois. From the statue, you may walk down the stairs and then follow the path in the rightward direction back to Grandhotel Pupp. The path is marked and you will also come across direction signs and orientation maps. |

Three Crosses

The crosses were erected on the site as a symbol of the successful re-catholicization of the town and its surroundings (after 1620). According to a legend, however, the crosses symbolize the death of three brothers who died a violent death. Take public transport buses No. 2, 8, 11, or 13 and travel to the Panorama stop. Walk another 100 metres and continue up U Tří křížů Street to the Panorama Arbour from there, follow Turgenev's Path. Turn left at the first crossing behind the arbour, walk to the junction with Gogol's Path (about 400 metres) and turn right. The leading along the Three Crosses (U Tří křížů) Lodge will take you to the Three Crosses. A return hike is a little more than 2 km long. If you continue up Gogol's Path, you will reach Goethe's Lookout. |
Kristýna Gazebo
| A phenomenon typical of the town of Karlovy Vary is not only the mineral springs and colonnades but also a number of unique gazebos and lookouts in the woods surrounding the spa. The gazebo named Kristýna was built in the woods by the Baustav construction company for the town of Karlovy Vary. |  |
